BOTANICAL GARDEN ZUGDIDI

Zugdidi Botanical garden Zugdidi branch of Central Botanical Garden administered by the Georgian Academy of Sciences; was built in the late 19th century by the prince of Samegrelo David Dadiani, near his residence. The garden now has over eighty genus of exotic plants introduced from southeast Asia, India, Japan, Mediterranean and the Americas.

ENGURI DAM

The Enguri Dam is a hydroelectric dam in the Enguri River in Georgia. Currently it is the world’s second highest concrete arch dam with a height of 271 meters.

KOLKHETI NATIONAL PARK

Kolkheti National Park is a national park located in the historical region of Colchis in western Georgia. It lies on a coastal plain on the Black Sea, between the mouths of the Tikori and Supsa and spanning the districts of Zugdidi, Khobi, Lanchkhuti, Senaki and Abasha. The park was established during 1998 and 1999 as part of Georgiaā€™s Integrated Coastal Management Project, which was backed financially by the World Bank (WB) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). Kolkheti National Park covers an area of 28,940 hectares, incorporating the land of the former 500-hectare Kolkheti State Nature Reserve, which had been established in 1947, and its surrounding wetlands, including the lake Paliastomi.

LUGELA GORGE

Lugela is a mineral water where consistency of chloride and calcium reaches 9,5%.
Lugela gorge from the North is bordered by Migaria limestone massif rich with various relief forms: cave of Potoltsvena (leaf fall) (length 2,5 km, depth 340 m), Khaverdovana abyss (length 1,5 km, depth 400 m), Zesinakhe cave (length 1,5 km, depth 300 m), Mukhuri cave (length 960 m). The territory of the village of Mukhuri is crossed by Shurubumu (‘Breathholding’) canyon rich with the most beautiful cascades of waterfalls.

MARTVILI CANYON

Martvili canyons used to be a bath place for Dadiani family. Now people visit it to enjoy the scenery, its waterfalls and take a boat trip in the river with deep green color.

MARTVILI MONASTERY

Martvili Monastery is a Georgian monastic complex located in the village of Martvili in the Martvili District of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Province (Mkhare) of Georgia. It sits upon the highest hill in the vicinity and was of strategic importance. Original construction of Martvili-Chkondidi Cathedral, late 7th century, rebuilt by King Giorgi II, 10th century.

NOKALAKEVI

Nokalakevi is an archaeological site. Occupying some 20 ha, the site was known to Byzantine historians as Archeopolis, and to the neighbouring Georgian chroniclers as Tsikhegoji or the fortress of Kuji a Colchian ruler or eristavi.

PALIASTOMI LAKE

Lake Paliastomi is a small lake near the city of Poti, Georgia, connected to the Black Sea by a narrow channel. Its surface area is 17.3 kmĀ² and the mean depth is 2.6 m. Some ancient pieces of Colchis have been found near and in the lake by archaeologists. It is also an important fishery site.

The lake is included within the boundaries of the Kolkheti National Park.

SALKHINO DADIANI PALACE

DADIANI PALACE in Salkhino: The palace was constructed in the village Salkhino, 19th century. The garde was designed by an Italian designer Zeb Lambert. There is a wine cellar built in the 18th century.

TSALENJIKHA CATHEDRAL

The Tsalenjikha Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Savior is a medieval Georgian Orthodox cathedral at the town of Tsalenjikha, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Georgia. It is best known for a unique cycle of murals which exemplifies the direct import of Byzantine Paleologan style and even artists in Georgia.
